At Julie Mathews Therapy, we are committed to providing ethical, professional, and secure mental health services. These Terms and Conditions outline the legal agreement between you and Julie Mathews Therapy when using our website or receiving services. 2. Services Provided

Julie Mathews Therapy offers licensed mental health services within the state of Utah. Services include individual therapy, consultation, and telehealth (virtual therapy) in accordance with the Utah Telehealth Act. You must reside in Utah or be located in a state where the therapist is legally permitted to provide services at the time of service delivery.


3. No Emergency Services

Julie Mathews Therapy does not provide crisis intervention or emergency services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, call 911 or the Utah Crisis Line at 988, available 24/7.


4. Eligibility and Age Restrictions

Our therapy services are intended for adults and, in certain cases, minors with parental or guardian consent, in compliance with Utah Code § 62A-2-101 and related state laws. We do not knowingly provide services to individuals under the age of 13, in alignment with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and UCPA.


5. Scheduling and Cancellations

You are responsible for attending all scheduled appointments on time. Cancellations require 24 hours’ notice to avoid charges. No-shows and late cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee, as outlined in your intake agreement. Repeated late cancellations may result in the discontinuation of services.


6. Fees and Payment

All fees will be communicated prior to the start of services. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. We do not currently accept direct insurance billing but can provide a superbill for reimbursement if requested.

Payment processing is handled via secure third-party services compliant with industry standards. We do not store payment details on our servers.


7. Confidentiality and Privacy

All client information is handled in accordance with Utah confidentiality laws (e.g., Utah Code § 58-60-114) and federal standards (HIPAA). Information shared during sessions is confidential, except as required or permitted by law—such as in cases of risk of harm, abuse reporting, or court orders.

Our website also complies with the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA). Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and store your personal data.


8. Use of Website

You agree to use our website lawfully and in a manner consistent with all Utah consumer protection regulations. You may not:

Julie Mathews Therapy provides virtual therapy sessions using secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms. Clients receiving telehealth services must physically be in the during the session unless otherwise permitted by interjurisdictional agreements.

By engaging in teletherapy, you acknowledge the inherent limitations of remote care and accept responsibility for ensuring privacy on your end.


11. Limitation of Liability

Julie Mathews Therapy is not liable for indirect or incidental damages related to the use or inability to use our services or website. We do not guarantee outcomes of therapy, which depend on numerous individual factors.


12. Third-Party Links

Our website may include links to third-party websites. Julie Mathews Therapy is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external websites and encourages users to review their respective terms and policies.


13. Changes to These Terms
